Specialties

Integrated Art Psychotherapy in groups, featuring the core technology of structured Yishu psychodrama, is currently being implemented in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital. This innovative approach builds upon the foundation of Yishu psychodrama and is supported by research. It centers on the client's relationships with significant others in their life, aiming to stimulate creativity and spontaneity through reenactments of family-of-origin interaction patterns and subsequent therapeutic processing.

Yishu Psychodrama is a short-term and highly effective psychotherapy approach rooted in Chinese culture, developed by Dr. Gong Mo based on 30 years of clinical experience. Integrating Chinese and Western psychotherapy theories and techniques, it draws upon principles from Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, with a treatment logic core inspired by the "first purging and then replenishing" concept from the "Huangdi Neijing". Utilizing the "Five Elements" theory and Qi theory as emotional processing models, the therapy combines techniques such as psychodrama, Gestalt therapy, music, dance, drama, and painting to foster healing. Emphasizing a holistic perspective and a therapeutic philosophy aligned with nature, it represents a fusion of Chinese and Western psychotherapy approaches tailored to the Chinese cultural context.
