From January 8 to 10, 2025, the 10th Annual Meeting of Medical Scientists was held in Beijing, co-hosted by The Newspaper for China's Physicians, China Health Culture Association, and China Health & Medical Development Foundation. At this event, Associate Chief Physician Han Xiaodong from General Surgery was honored as one of the “2024 Top 10 Public Welfare Figures.”

Dr. Han’s work is driven by a deep commitment to benevolence, advanced medical skills, and a passion for science communication. Over the years, he has become a beacon of hope for countless obese patients, guiding them toward better health and renewed self-confidence. Since 2011, he has dedicated himself to the field of bariatric surgery, performing nearly 2,000 successful surgeries. Throughout his career, he has continued to refine surgical techniques and develop personalized treatment plans that offer patients a path to long-term health.

Starting with recruiting patients, Dr. Han has evolved his practice to include an online clinic, enabling him to connect with patients across the country.
