STCSM Technology Transfer Demonstration Institution

The conversion of scientific and technological breakthroughs has garnered significant interest over the years. Given its multifaceted nature, lengthy research and development cycles, and substantial investment requirements, it is imperative to foster consensus and pool resources for steady progress. Establishing technology transfer demonstration institutions stands as a pivotal strategy to surmount existing challenges and erect a highly efficient technology transfer operational framework.

Benefiting from a robust foundation in clinical research and a wealth of existing patents and technologies, Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital provides fertile ground for innovation and technology transfer. Endorsed by the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM) in 2023, it embarked on the establishment of a technology transfer demonstration institution. The endeavor aims to construct a technology transfer operational system, institute a talent cultivation mechanism for technology transfer services, and inaugurate scientific and technological value assessment and proof-of-concept centers.

The initiative envisions crafting a technology transfer platform encompassing organizational management, systematic development, personnel training, value assessment, and concept validation. It entails exhaustive exploration into distinct management systems for scientific and technological achievements, disclosure mechanisms, training programs for technical managers, pre-application evaluation for patents, and more.

With system development as its cornerstone, team cultivation as its assurance, and a focus on biomedicine, we aspires to establish Shanghai's premier technology transfer demonstration institution. By translating the hospital's scientific and clinical prowess into independent innovation advantages, we endeavor to contribute to the advancement of the Healthy China Action Plan.
