In an effort to enhance the quality of residency training and promote the exchange of teaching experiences, Vice President Chen Zhen of Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, along with a delegation of 13 members, visited our hospital on the afternoon of November 19, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to engage in discussions on the management and teaching practices of residency training. Vice President Hu Cheng of our hospital, Vice Dean Li Ping of the Clinical Medical School, and teaching directors, secretaries, and residency training management personnel participated in the exchange meeting.

Vice President Hu Cheng extended a warm welcome to Vice President Chen and his team, expressing gratitude for their visit. He emphasized the importance of leveraging this opportunity to deepen collaboration between the two hospitals and establish a sustainable mechanism for improving the competencies of resident physicians. Vice President Chen Zhen and Vice Dean Li Ping provided comprehensive overviews of the residency training systems at their respective hospitals. These presentations covered aspects such as infrastructure, training management, teacher development, quality assurance, and support measures.

Following the presentations, teaching and management personnel from eight professional bases—including internal medicine, surgery, radiation oncology, clinical pathology, radiology, ultrasound medicine, nuclear medicine, and anesthesia—engaged in free discussions. These discussions focused on best practices in rotation management, assessment and evaluation systems, and teaching methodologies for resident physicians. Participants openly shared insights, identified areas for improvement, and exchanged innovative ideas to advance residency training.

Building on the success of this exchange, our hospital aims to further standardize teaching activities, enhance resident management, and achieve high-quality development in residency training. By making forward-looking plans and implementing solid measures, our hospital is committed to cultivating top-tier medical talent and driving continuous improvement in medical education.
