Dr. Jia is professor and chief physician of Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Director of Shanghai Diabetes Institute, and Director of Institute for Proactive Healthcare of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Her research interests include identifying the susceptible genes of type 2 diabetes and its complications in Chinese Han population through genetic epidemiology studies; implementing epidemiology surveys on diabetes and its complications, and promoting integrated care with digital medicine; establishing the reference value of continuous glucose monitoring, and expanding its clinical applications; developing an early prediction model of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease with FGF21, and revealing its mechanism in the pathogenesis. She has published over 300 original articles in international journals, including Nat Med, Nat Biotechnol, Nat Metab, Nat Commun, BMJ, Lancet Diabetes Endocrinol, Diabetes, J Hepatol, Diabetes Care, etc.
